Concerts

uhcf2016

In the summer of 2014, after several years of hosting artists both in our own home and a local carriage house, we inherited the reins at Unity House Concerts, a UU church coffeehouse nestled in a warm, welcoming wooded setting but with easy access to I-91 and within driving distance of Hartford, Northampton, Worcester and the Berkshires.

Since then, the series has grown in leaps and bounds, thanks to performances from Mike + Ruthy, Joe Jencks, Meg Hutchinson, Jean Rohe, Jay Mankita, The Sea The Sea, The Gaslight Tinkers, Antje Duvekot, Mary Lou Lord, The Western Den, and Matt Nakoa – all artists who have featured here at Cover Lay Down.

This year, our Unity House schedule kicks off with a bang on September 17 with foot-stomping fourpiece folkband Pesky J. Nixon, whose 2012 all-covers release Red Ducks was one of the top 30 CDs on national folk radio the year of its release. Our series will also include Americana string trio Low Lily (December 17), a co-bill with RI-based singer-songwriter Allysen Callery and Philly acoustic duo Driftwood Soldier (November 19), award-winning Bluegrass multi-instrumental singer-songwriter Molly Tuttle (October 8).

So come: join us at Unity House Concerts to experience the roots and branches of American folk and acoustic music at what is fast becoming one of New England’s fastest growing coffeehouses. All shows are just $15 / $5 for students with ID. Tickets are available at the door, which opens at 6:30. Hope to see you there soon!

PS: If you’re a traveling musician, and you’d like us to consider you for one of our shows, please contact us here. We are currently booking acts for Winter/Spring 2017.
